THE father of a two-year-old who's mother has been arrested on suspicion of murder left a touching tribute to his tragic tot.

Nestling among a pile of floral tributes, outside the home where the body of Jasmine Bellfield was discovered last Friday, the most poignant simply stated: “RIP our little darling, love daddy and grandma.”

The tragic youngster’s mother Sonia is detained in a psychiatric hospital having been arrested at the house for murder.

Mother and daughter lived at the house alone after Sonia split from husband Martin Bellfield, 40, last year.

Mr Bellfield is still registered as living at the house on Naylor Court, Dewsbury, though it is unclear where he is living.

The message was left on top of a bunch of red carnations which were among a dozen tributes and teddy bears left at the front of the house.

Other messages outside the house called the tot ‘princess’ and ‘angel’.

Further tests are being carried out after a post-mortem failed to find a cause of death for Jasmine, who was known to Kirklees social services.
