LUCKY homeowners have celebrated after their properties were chosen for a host of revamps.

Residents from the Gardens Terrace area of Ravensthorpe came together at the launch of their new neighbourhood agreement.

The homes, which are privately owned, have all had facelifts both inside and out as part of Kirklees Council’s £350,000 Neighbourhood Renewal programme.

The work was funded by the Department for Communities and Local Government.

The neighbourhood agreement sets out the responsibilities of both residents and services for issues such as rubbish, flytipping, noise and antisocial behaviour.

Housing chief Clr Shabir Pandor, said: “The work that’s been carried out at Gardens Terrace will benefit the residents and the community as a whole.

“The aim of the agreement is for residents and service providers to work together to protect the investment that’s been made in the area and help make Gardens Terrace a better, cleaner and safer place to live for everyone.”
