A couple’s quiet meal turned into a night out to remember.

They bumped into actors Michael Palin, Sheila Hancock and Mark Addy in Lepton, Huddersfield.

Lepton pair Jamie Dutton and Charlotte Hall could not believe their luck when they met the British stars in the bar area of 315 restaurant and hotel in the village.

Rather than remaining dumbstruck in awe, they picked up the courage to say “Hello” and were surprised when their chat turned into a night-long affair.

The celebrity trio have been staying at the venue for the past two weeks whilst they film for three part BBC 1 thriller, Remember Me.

Jamie, 40, who lives in Rowley Lane with Charlotte, 30, even grabbed a snap of his girlfriend with the former Monty Python and Full Monty Stars to commemorate the night.

He said: “It was just a surreal night.

“We were ordering a drink at the bar when we spotted someone who looked like Michael.

“So we asked him if it was him, he said ‘Yes’ and we got chatting about how the filming was going and how he was finding his stay up here.

“Then, Mark suddenly appeared along with Sheila and we sat at the opposite table to them for dinner so we could continue our conversation.

“We chatted about all sorts, including their past films, and they showed a real interest in what we did too.

“I’ve seen the Full Monty about 1,000 times and grown up with the others on TV so I just couldn’t believe it when we met them in person.

“I like try have a chat with stars when I see them because I know they’re just normal people at the end of the day but they were really down to earth and great to talk to.

“They also told us how much they liked Yorkshire which we were pleased about.

“It proves you never know who you may meet when you go out.”

One of the managers at 315, Adam Davies, said: “It’s been an honour to have them stay and we’ve enjoyed their company.”

The trio have been filming in Marsden and at the Kirklees College old New North Road site, as well as at North Light Film Studios in Armitage Bridge.

Studio spokesman, Ben Sweet, said: “Filming has been going well and it’s been good to work with such a great team of people.

“There’s a couple of weeks to go before filming ends.”
