DISABLED young people are being invited to take part in Huddersfield Town’s Ability Counts football programme.

The programme starts tomorrow and is being funded by Kirklees Council.

It will be delivered by Town’s Football in the Community coaches, through the Huddersfield Community Trust.

The aim is to enable players to develop their football skills in a non-competitive environment.

When players feel confident in their ability they will have the opportunity to progress to represent Town in the junior division of the West Riding County Football Association Ability Counts League.

The programme will launch tomorrow at 3pm, with sessions being held on Sundays from 3 until 4pm at The Zone,Šoff St. Andrew’s Road,

Darren Tordoff, inclusion officer for Kirklees Council’s disabled children team, said: “This exciting new club gives children who enjoy playing football the opportunity to be coached by professionals who have experience of supporting players with additional needs.”

Parents or young people who are interested should contact James Doyle on 07540 127683.
