A GREYHOUND rescue charity is appealing for Huddersfield people to donate items for a fundraising auction.

Tia Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue, based at Sowerby Bridge, is holding a charity auction on November 30 at Cheap as Chips Auctions, Wood Street, in Huddersfield.

The auctioneer will be Mark Bajerski and the auction will start at 11.30am.

All proceeds raised will go towards Tia's work in rescuing, treating and re-homing greyhounds and lurchers.

So far, items donated for the auction include the use of a holiday home in Florida for a week, a food hamper, Marks and Spencer and Tesco vouchers, a teddy bear from Beatties, pet treats from Pet Warehouse, a colour TV and golf bags.

Tia is still looking for donated goods, or "promises" such as meals out, holidays, beauty treatments and vouchers.

Big, medium or small items are welcome.

Mr Bajerski can call round to homes to look at larger items if the owners are unsure about whether they are suitable for auction.

He can be contacted on 01484 530305.

All donations need to be in by November 22.

Items can be delivered to Susan Dawson, who can be contacted on 01484 854432, or Deb Rothery, who can be reached on 07974960684.
