FAMILIES took part in the Dome of Dreams at Huddersfield Art Gallery.
The gallery on Princess Alexandra Walk was transformed into an interactive environment for the weekend.
Magic lanterns, overhead projectors and torches were used to create a mysterious other world.
Workshops took inspiration from artist Isamu Noguchi’s sculptures at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
Children crafted their own sculptures out of sand and rehearsed and performed a shadow puppet show.
They also became actors in a movement about the creation of the world as dark becomes light.
Ruth Gamble, education and outreach officer, said: “It went really well.
“We’ve had children from the local schools in to take part and it has been a really magical experience.”
