A READER has warned about a possible scam.

She received a card addressed to The Occupier asking her to call a telephone number as soon as possible.

This she did, spoke to a chap called Paul who asked for the reference number on the card. She was asked to wait and then put through to a second chap.

He said they had been trying to make contact with her next-door neighbour but had had no response by mail. Could she supply their telephone number?

"On thinking this over, I realise he could easily have got the information himself and it must be a scam, which my telephone bill will no doubt prove.

"If this is the case, I should like others to be warned. It is so easy to act on a request like this and then think how foolish afterwards."

The telephone code of the number she dialled was 01252, which is the code for Farnborough. Has anyone had similar requests?
