AN EVENT celebrating the wonders of planet Earth is to be held at Dewsbury Museum. To mark the United Nation’s International Year of Planet Earth, the event will encourage families to find out more. Entitled Planet Earth’s Core Values, the day will give a glimpse of what lies beneath the Earth’s surface. Working with professional set designer and artist Amy Hirst, families will get the chance to turn a museum gallery into a rainforest from 300 million years ago, recreate fossilised plants and trees and make volcanoes. The free event is on March 9 from 1pm-4pm and is suitable for ages seven upwards.
