A TALENTED Huddersfield University student is fast tracking himself into the commercial world by setting up his own recruitment company.

Entrepreneurial Talent Mutyavaviri, from Paddock, is set to launch his own headhunting business for health professionals. The new enterprise, called Highpeak Healthcare, will start trading later this month.

Talent, 32, is currently studying Enterprise Development BA(Hons), a course championed by Dragons’ Den star Theo Paphitis.

Talent said: “I have met Theo twice since starting the course.

“The first time we had a master-class with him and the second time some of my colleagues pitched their ideas to him. They are always very informative encounters, you learn so much from him.”

During the second year of the course, students have to set up their own business. Talent has previously worked for nine years in healthcare, for both the NHS and the private sector. He felt it was an obvious choice to set up a business in this field.

Highpeak Healthcare will initially recruit care assistants, healthcare assistants and support workers to provide staff for respite care and nursing homes. However, Talent hopes to expand his recruitment business and establish an emergency respite care centre, something which does not currently exist in Kirklees.

He said: “I want to be able to provide the facility which is a stop gap between a patient’s normal life and organised respite care when, for whatever reason, that person needs to be placed in respite care at short notice,”

Following a guest lecture by Mark Fielding, of Simpson Wood, Talent has enlisted the help of the chartered accountants.

“I have been very impressed with the professionalism and detail which Talent has put into the formation of this business, whilst still studying for his degree at the university, said Mark.

“Launching a new business is a difficult and time consuming process and Talent has worked tirelessly to ensure the business has a great chance of success,” he added.

“Simpson Wood is very pleased to offer its support with book keeping, payroll, accountancy and general advice which Talent has required and we hope his company will grow from strength to strength.”
