TEACHERS are being sent DVDs of a film drama about a violent pupil to help them learn how to deal with bad behaviour in class.

The film, called Valentine's Day, tells the story of six-year-old Jason, who "kicks and bites his way through school" until his new teacher Mr Valentine finds "a different side" to him.

Film company Red Rose Chain, based in Ipswich, Suffolk, said that so far about 250 copies of the short drama had been ordered to help with training primary school teachers.

Valentine's Day, which features children from Saxmundham Primary School in Suffolk as well as established actors, focuses on the problems of disruptive pupils.

Mr Valentine struggles to deal with Jason's violence, until the boy paints a picture one day that reveals more about his life.

The DVD launch follows the development of a new £20m-a-year TV channel for teachers, expected to begin broadcasting next year.
