A CHAIN store has recalled around 10,000 dressing gowns after a scare that they might have been contaminated by a chemical substance.

Primark, which has a store in New Street, Huddersfield, issued a recall notice over women's dressing gowns labelled Secret Possessions, style number 49416/49417.

A spokeswoman for the chain said the gowns had been sold between July 18 and August 28.

A director had noticed a strange odour from one of the gowns on sale.

"There have been no complaints from the public and apparently the odour goes if the garment is washed," the spokes- woman said. "It is being recalled as a precautionary measure."
