A MAN had to be cut free from his badly damaged car after a smash at Oakes. Three cars were involved in the shunt on New Hey Road close to the Bay Horse roundabout at 7.10pm last night. The man in one car, a small blue hatchback, was left badly dazed and shocked. Firefighters cut out a door post so he could be gently lifted free. He was taken to the nearby Huddersfield Royal Infirmary for treatment, but was not thought to be badly hurt.
