A DELIVERY driver was dragged along the road after confronting a thief who was stealing his van in Heckmondwike.
The 60-year-old driver had made a delivery on Church Street just after midday yesterday. He rushed to the vehicle on seeing it reversing, and grabbed the door and was dragged for a short distance.
He was left as the van drove off along High Street at speed. The man was taken to Dewsbury District Hospital with minor injuries.
The van was a white Mercedes sprinter van registration Y502 JJX, with the writing `Hebden Paul' in red on the sides.
The thief is described as a white male in his late teens with short fair hair, a pale complexion, of slim build and wearing a pale fleece.
