A DRIVER had a lucky escape on the M62.

He was uninjured after hitting a crash barrier and flipping his vehicle on the motorway.

The accident, involving a Land Rover which was towing a trailer, happened on the eastbound carriageway, near Stott Hall Farm, Scammonden, at around 3pm yesterday.

The driver lost control of his vehicle in lane three and hit a crash barrier on the central reservation. The vehicle overturned before landing on its side.

Lanes two and three of the carriageway were closed causing tailbacks to junction 21, at Milnrow.

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance was called but was turned back when it was discovered the driver was uninjured.
