A DRIVER kicked up a stink at a roundabout.

The tractor driver's trailer tipped over at the Chimney Lane roundabout at Lepton, spraying a path with horse manure.

Matthew Blackburn was in his Wakefield Road home when the accident happened.

He said: "I was listening to music when I heard this creaking sound, followed by a tremendous crash."

The 26-year-old looked out to see that the trailer, belonging to Equine Waste Services, had tipped over, squashing the rail by the side of the road.

He said: "I went out to have a look and there was a pile of horse manure lying on the path next to the road.

"It was about five feet long and about a foot high.

"It smelled gross. It was a terrible pong."

Mr Blackburn, who has lived in the area for nearly 20 years, thinks the driver, who was unhurt, must have overloaded his trailer.

Police arrived at the scene 20 minutes later.
