A DRIVER was seriously hurt in a two-car crash in Shepley.

The accident involving a Ford Focus and a Toyota 4x4 happened at the junction between Carr Lane and Lane Head Road at around 9am on Saturday.

The Focus driver – a 50-year-old man from Lepton – was cut out of his car by fire crews and taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

His injuries were not thought to be life threatening.

The 4x4 driver from Oldham escaped with minor injuries.

Police, who are investigating the crash, closed the road for 90 minutes to clear oil which had spilled from one of the vehicles.
