A MOTORIST suffered a nasty cut to his head in a road rage attack.

The 58-year-old Birchencliffe man was injured during the incident in Lindley early yesterday and was still in Huddersfield Royal Infirmary today.

Police want anyone who saw the incident at 8am yesterday to contact them.

The victim was driving his white Honda down West Street when he realised a green car - possibly a Rover - was behind him.

He turned on to Lidget Street and then right into Thomas Street, where both cars stopped.

The drivers got out and the victim was assaulted - possibly with a weapon.

He suffered a 10in gash to his head.

The suspect is white, aged 25 to 40, 5ft 9in tall and slim.
