A drug addict stole coats from a town centre shop as she struggled to overcome her addiction.
Catherine Boland, 60, admitted stealing £245 worth of clothing from the Huddersfield branch of Marks and Spencer.
She was arrested following the offence on Thursday and kept in custody for her hearing on Friday.
Kirklees magistrates were told that on that date Boland entered the New Street store at just after 1pm.
A member of security staff witnessed her leave shortly afterwards sporting a coat from the new season collection.
Boland later returned to the store without the coat, picked up another and put it on before exiting again.
She had another coat draped over her arm as she was stopped outside and detained for police.
Boland, of Redcar Street in Halifax, tested positive for having cocaine and opiates in her system following her arrest.
She said that she stole the coats to sell them to feed her addiction.
Magistrates adjourned sentencing until October 11 so that Boland can be assessed for drug rehabilitation.
She was released on conditional bail.
Boland must comply with the Drug Intervention Programme.
She was also banned from entering Huddersfield or any Marks and Spencer store.
