A LARGE amount of drugs and cash were seized in a drugs bust in Huddersfield.

Officers raided a flat on Devonshire Street, Lockwood, just before noon yesterday.

They seized a large amount of what is thought to be crack cocaine and heroin, along with a large sum of cash.

The raid was part of the Dob In A Dealer scheme, which urges people to give information about drug dealers blighting local communities.

Four men and a woman were arrested at the flat on suspicion of drugs offences.

Two of the men are aged 20 and the other two are 22 and 17. The woman is 22.

A 27-year-old man was later detained in Lockwood in possession of a stun-gun. He was released on police bail pending further inquiries.

The other five people remain in police custody and were being questioned at Huddersfield police station today.

The raids were carried out by the Kirklees District Drugs Team and Huddersfield Proactive Burglary Team.

Pc Dave McSweeney, of Huddersfield police, said: "This shows our commitment and continued efforts to take drug dealers off the streets of Huddersfield."
