POLICE raided a cannabis farm in Lindley resulting in two arrests.

Neighbourhood Policing officers from the Huddersfield North team acted on community intelligence and executed a warrant at an address in Wellington Street.

The raid at a back-to-back terraced house uncovered 12 mature cannabis plants and a quantity of dried cannabis.

Pc Kerry Agus and PCSO Mohammed Tariq were involved in the operation which resulted in a 58-year-old man and a man in his 20s being arrested. Both have now been bailed.

Further tests will take place on the find before it is destroyed.

The raid comes months after a separate property in the same street uncovered £35,000 worth of cannabis.

And positive action to uncover drugs was further cemented by figures which show West Yorkshire has detected the highest number of cannabis farms in the country. Last month The Association of Chief Police Officers said 936 illegal drug operations were found in the area.
