BIN collections will remain unchanged over Easter.
Kirklees Council has confirmed the refuse collection service will operate as normal over the Easter bank holiday.
And the five household waste recycling centres will open for an additional one hour each day from Monday, March 30. The opening times from that date will be: 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm Saturday and 9am to 4pm Sunday.
The hours are being extended to cope with the anticipated rise in garden waste and general waste resulting from spring cleans over Easter and throughout the summer.
Council officials have revealed there will be an important change from April 1 in the type of waste which can be deposited at the recycling centres.
New Environment Agency regulations mean that plasterboard or products containing plaster such as brickwork with plaster stuck to it, can only be disposed of at two of the centres – Emerald Street, Huddersfield and Weaving Lane, Thornhill, Dewsbury.
The five household waste recycling centres are located at:
Emerald Street, Huddersfield, HD1 6BY
Bent Ley Road, Meltham, HD9 4AP
Bromley Farm, Upper Cumberworth. HD8 8PD
Thornhill Road, Dewsbury, WF12 9QR
