PASSENGERS should check the times when they travel on buses and trains at Easter.

The advice comes from Metro, which said special timetables will be in operation.

Concessionary fares, West Yorkshire DayRover and cheap day rail return tickets are available all day over the Easter period.

For up-to-the-minute information about the weekend passengers should call MetroLine, which will be open from 7am to 10pm each day on 0113 245 7676.

BUSES

Good Friday: Saturday service.

Easter Saturday: Normal Saturday service.

Easter Sunday: Normal Sunday service. The summer network of Dales Bus services will start. Service 900 (Huddersfield-Ripponden-Hebden Bridge) will start the summer Sunday service.

Easter Monday: All bus operators will run a Sunday service in West Yorkshire.

Tuesday: Normal weekday service.

TRAINS

Good Friday: Normal Friday MetroTrain and TransPennine Express services will run. GNER will operate a reduced service. Other long- distance operators' services may be subject to change. The following Northern trains, advertised as bank holidays excepted, will run: 1548 and 1648 Liverpool Lime Street-Huddersfield. 1732 Huddersfield-Manchester Victoria.

Easter Saturday: Normal Saturday MetroTrain and TransPennine Express services.

Easter Sunday: Normal Sunday MetroTrain and TransPennine Express services. GNER will operate an hourly service to and from Leeds, Newcastle and Scotland.

Easter Monday: Normal Monday MetroTrain and TransPennine Express services will operate. The following Northern trains, advertised as bank holidays excepted, will run: 1548 and 1648 Liverpool Lime Street-Huddersfield and 1732 Huddersfield-Manchester Victoria. GNER will operate a special service.
