A man under curfew has been allowed to go on holiday.
Jamie Gibbons of Millers Croft in Birstall will not have to be at his home from 7pm to 7am from August 19 to the morning of August 28 so that he can join his stepfather who has cancer on a family trip to Skegness.
The plea by 21-year-old Gibbons was heard at Kirklees Magistrates Court where he had previously been sentenced to a 16 week curfew for breaking a restraining order.
His defence, Aftab Hussein, said Gibbons had forgotten to mention the pre-booked holiday when he was sentenced to the curfew.
He said that the week in question was the only time the whole family could go away and look after Gibbons’ stepfather.
The holiday allowance means that Gibbons’ curfew will be extended to end on November 23.
