AN Elland restaurant has been listed in the prestigious Michelin Guide for the 10th year running.

La Cachette restaurant and wine bar has been recognised in the 2013 Great Britain and Ireland Michelin Guide, which contains listings of 2,100 restaurants and 1,700 hotels that have been selected for constant quality.

Even though the Michelin Guide is known and recognised for its star rating system such restaurants represent only 5% of the selection and the rest of the guide is comprised of good, small, affordably priced establishments.

Jonathan Nichols has been the owner and head chef of La Cachette, which means ‘hiding place’ for nine years.

He said: “I am incredibly proud that La Cachette has been included yet again in this prestigious food guide.

“It’s testament to the hard work and dedication of our restaurant team and is a fantastic accolade, especially in the current economic climate.”

The French-owned gourmet’s bible describes La Cachette as a “long-standing, well-run bistro providing classical, seasonal cooking with international influences”.
