AN ELLAND firm is playing a part in the biggest event in the world’s sporting calendar.

Digital media company Fluid Creative Media beat off stiff competition to secure a contract with Volleyball England.

The firm will be responsible for designing and launching the Governing body for volleyball’s new website in time for the 2012 Olympics.

This will give the site – and the company – a global platform as millions of people around the world search for information on the London games.

The firm’s employees are now working hard to ensure that the website is up and running for October.

Volleyball England promotes and encourages more people to play the sport.

Stephen Earle, director of Fluid Creative Media, said: “The pitch was an intense and lengthy process which ran for several months.

“Volleyball England were impressed with our web design pedigree within the sporting arena and this was a key factor in us winning the pitch.

“The Olympics is a great opportunity for Volleyball England in terms of recruiting members, so the website is crucial for them over the next 12-18 months.

“We are delighted they chose us to represent them with their digital presence.”

With the 2012 Olympic Games now less that a year away, the countdown has already begun.

The games are expected to welcome millions of people from around the world into the UK, with a global audience of 4bn set to watch the opening ceremony.

There are 26 different Olympic sports and beach volleyball has rapidly become the second most popular Olympic sport.

The new website designed by Fluid will have a cleaner, more inspiring look and for the next year be heavily geared towards the huge sporting event.

Stephen added: “The Olympics is such a massive platform and has a huge visibility around the world so this is a brilliant coup for us.

“We are a very sports-focused company and our Super League website helped get us the (Volleyball England) contract.”

The company has a wealth of experience in website and graphic design.

Its client list includes big names in the sporting industry, including Huddersfield Giants, for whom the firm recently designed The Homecoming and 2012 Season Ticket graphics.
