MEMBERS of Elland Inner Wheel Club saw how their donation to a hearing dogs centre had been used when they visited an East Yorkshire centre to which they gave £1,560 last year.

Past president Enid Astin and eight members were shown round the training centre for hearing dogs for deaf people.

They were given a guided tour of the kennels and training facilities and a demonstration showing how a dog reacts to household noises and communicates with its owner. The centre can train up to 50 dogs a year and is funded solely by donations.
