A SEXUAL “deviant” who tricked a teenage babysitter into allowing him to molest a child failed in a bid to get his potentially life-long jail sentence cut.

Michael John Wilby, 26, told the 16-year-old he had permission to stay at the house.

Wilby, of Lower Edge Road, Lower Edge, Elland, then sneaked into bed with a five-year-old girl.

He was sentenced on August 26 last year to imprisonment for public protection – an indefinite jail term which is almost identical to a life term – after being convicted of sexual assault on a child under 13 at Bradford Crown Court.

Yesterday, London's Criminal Appeal Court, threw out his case against the sentence.
