A TEENAGER was fined for public disorder.

The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was issued with a fixed penalty notice after being stopped in Elland.

The boy was in the area of Catherine Crescent on May 1 when police stopped to speak to a group of youths who refused to leave the area.

As two were arrested for being drunk and disorderly, the 17-year-old began to act in a rowdy way.

He was issued with the fixed penalty notice for causing harassment alarm or distress to local residents.

Police are carrying out regular patrols of the area around Roseberry Street, Langdale Street and Charles Street, Elland each evening between 5pm and 8pm to cut down on anti-social behaviour problems.
