EMLEY Brass Band, conducted by Garry Hallas, took first place at the Bolsover Entertainment Contest.
It followed the band’s win at Whycavon Festival of Brass in Evesham, Worcestershire, two weeks ago.
Musical director Garry Hallas said: “I’m delighted with the victory.
“It comes on the back of a very hard couple of months working hard for Wychavon and then even harder to change our programme almost entirely in time for the Bolsover contest.
“The band is playing well and are glad all the hard work is paying dividends.”
The band can next be heard in St Michael’s Church, Emley next Saturday at 7.30pm.
