A MUM is pulling on her running shoes to raise money for a charity that helped her premature baby.

Emma Booth, of Kirkheaton, is taking part in Sunday’s Great Manchester Run. The 10k fundraiser will see thousands pound the streets of Manchester.

And Emma, 29, hopes to raise hundreds for her charity, Bliss, the special care baby charity.

The charity provides vital support and care to premature and sick babies – an organisation that’s particularly close to the legal secretary’s heart.

Emma’s 14-month-old daughter Lyla was born two months early and spent four weeks in intensive care.

Emma said: “She was very fortunate and is doing well, although she’s very small still. I had a lot of support from the charity and want to show that there’s help available for those whose pregnancies don’t go smoothly.”

Cheering on Emma will be her husband Simon and other family members.

She has been training hard for the event and hopes to compete in next year’s London Marathon.
