A SOAP star has signed up to be a guest on Huddersfield’s version of hit TV series Come Dine With Me.

Charity West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust wants as many people as possible to host a fundraising meal at their homes across Huddersfield on one night in April.

And one of those taking part has already bagged a high-profile name.

Richard Thorp, who plays Alan Turner in Emmerdale, hopes to help Marsden mum-of-two Dawn Marron raise thousands of pounds for West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust.

Richard, also famous for the film The Dambusters, will be a guest at the home of Nikki Schofield, one of the hostesses on the night.

He said: “Food is my passion so I am delighted to be part of this evening, and help make it a fantastic money raising event.

“I wish the West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust huge success – it is such a worthwhile charity”.

The children’s hospice charity is still looking for hosts and hostesses willing to cook a three course dinner for up to eight people.

And they also want guests willing to pay £25 per head – or what they think the meal they’re served is worth.

The host who raises the most money during the evening will win a meal for up to 10 people at the award-winning 1885 restaurant in Stainland.

Come Dine With Me Huddersfield is on Saturday, April 24. To take part contact Dawn Marron at dawnmarron@talktalk.net or 01484 841427
