AN EMPTY house suffered substantial damage in a suspected deliberate fire.
The blaze started in the out house before spreading to the kitchen of the semi-detached property on Fifth Avenue East, on the Windy Bank estate in Hightown, near Liversedge, at about 8.15pm on Thursday.
Cleckheaton and Brighouse firefighters spent about an hour dealing with the incident, which is under investigation.
There was serious smoke damage to much of the house.
Cleckheaton fire station watch commander Trevor McDonald said: "The house is now uninhabitable."
