ENTERPRISING students set up their own tasty treats business – and gave the profits to charity.

Hipperholme Grammar School’s year 9 business studies students set up their own business.

The pupils researched the market, had to promote the profits and then sell their goods to fellow students and staff.

Their aim was to make a profit which could be donated to charity.

All the groups achieved their aim, as each one made a profit.

The winning business, trading as Tootie Fruity, was set up by students Amiee McColl, Vicky Bryson, Anna Craig and Olivia Fearn.

They sold beautifully decorated, home-made buns and raised a profit of £31.65.

The second most profitable business was Tasty Treats, also selling hand-made buns and cakes, run by Sophie Doherty, Laura Fisher, Ellie Foggo, Sophie Godlington and Catherine Lathom-Sharp, the girls made £28.98 profit.

All the profits were donated to a local charity set up to help a young girl from Wibsey, Nicole Bowers, who is being treated for leukaemia; the WWF and Cancer Research.
