Abbey triumphed for making the most of every moment in life.

She’s only 15 but this A-grade Moor End Academy student is an Army Cadet whose shooting skills are so good she has been selected for the GB squad in the National Shooting Competition in Canada next month. She also represents her Army company at cross-country at regional level.

Abbey’s a member of the Advisory Board for the National Children’s Bureau, representing the views of young people across England and Wales, a chef of some renown and her band won the local ‘Battle of the Bands’ competition in Beaumont Park.

The judges said: “Abbey shows just how to get the most out of life and makes sure she achieves absolutely the best she can in everything she does.”

On winner her category Abbey said that she felt lucky to have won. “It is nice to be appreciated and recognised for something that becomes part of everyday life. You just go out there and get on with it.”
