AN AMATEUR rugby league club is hoping to fund new changing facilities with the help of the Examiner’s Wish Campaign.

Lindley Swifts ARLFC are brimming with enthusiasm for their club and want to ensure their facilities reflect their ambitions for the future.

The club has recently made Birchencliffe Cricket and Athletic Club its home and has already completed work on the new field and construction is ongoing for the changing rooms.

But as with any community building project funds are always tight and the club hopes tokens collected from The Wish campaign will turn into cash towards the finishing touches.

The club has three junior teams – under 9s, under 11s and under 13s – and an open age team.

Vikki Walker, from the club, said: “We have already completed work on our new field and our new changing facilities are under construction which will hopefully be ready for use by next season.

“We are constantly looking to the future and aiming to introduce the children to a safe and enjoyable environment where they can make new friends and learn about the game of rugby league.”

The club was formed 15 years ago and funding is raised by various events throughout the year including raffles, clothing sales, sponsorship and donations.
