HUDDERSFIELD schools, community groups and charities are among those being considered for cash boosts by a gas company. Northern Gas Networks has received more than 400 entries from groups across the North of England for dozens of grants of up to £5,000. The money is to be used to help communities improve their areas and the quality of life for local people. John O’Grady, the company’s communications director, said: “There are some really exciting ideas and I am really looking to seeing many of them become a reality.” The entries will be judged later this month and those successful will be informed next month.
