HOLMFIRTH Fair Traders Cooperative is holding a Totally Tropical Tea Party to raise cash for victims of the St Vincent Hurricane.

The event at Holmfirth Civic Hall tomorrow includes drumming, hula and limbo contests together with a demonstration of the Latin keep-fit craze, zumba, from 2pm.

Hurricane Tomas wrecked villages and banana farms on the Caribbean island at the end of October, leaving several dead and many islanders without their homes and livelihoods.

Entry to the event, which includes fair trade products for sale, is £2 with all proceeds donated to St Vincent banana farmers.

Holmfirth Fair Traders Cooperative, which runs a shop at the Toll House in Huddersfield Road, Holmfirth, will also host a For the Folk of St Vincent concert at Hepworth Village Hall on January 28.
