FAMILIES were invited to Huddersfield Public Library as part of Family Learning Week.

Parents and children worked together to make their own books.

The event was jointly organised by the library, Huddersfield Technical College and Kirklees Council's Family Learning Team.

There was also a display providing information on local family learning courses provided by the Tech in the community and in schools.

The college's family learning co-ordinator, Allison Pheasey, said: "This event was a way for families to have fun and work together making books, but also find out about local family learning opportunities."

Other events were held in libraries, museums, leisure centres, community centres, schools and colleges throughout the country, all designed to promote family learning.
