A BROTHER and sister magic duo are to perform at an international conjuring competition in Blackpool.

Michael, 16, and Siobhan Jordan, 19, aka High Jinx, are one of 13 acts chosen to compete in the World Junior Magician Championships.

The pair, from Scapegoat Hill, perform grand illusions, including a version of Houdini’s metamorphosis, with which they hope to impress Magic Circle judges at Blackpool Opera House tomorrow.

High Jinx have entertained crowds at the Boston Plaza Hotel in the USA and at the American Magicians’ Convention.

Michael is studying for his A-levels at Huddersfield New College while Siobhan is a playwork student at Leeds University.

Michael, who performs as a solo act, hopes to become a professional magician.

He said: “I’m not nervous, because I just love performing.”

The Blackpool championship is part of the Showzam festival of magic, circus and new variety.
