A FUNDRAISING family fun day has been held in Armitage Bridge to help two charities.

The fun day took place at the Armitage Bridge Monkey Club on Saturday to raise money for Cancer Research UK and Jigsaw, which helps children with autism and special needs.

Activities included a duck race, a harvest festival auction, a mini beer festival, a barbecue, a bouncy castle, stall and live music from The Whys and Wherefores.

The event was organised by the club in memory of members who have died from cancer in the past year, including Ray Stringer, who recently lost his long fight against the disease.
