A TEENAGER who died in a road tragedy adored his younger sisters.

And many people will remember seeing 17-year-old Danny Atkinson around town - even if they didn't know him.

For he always wore a distinctive red tracksuit which bore his name and a red doorag - a tight skullcap that looks like a scarf.

The teenager - known as Danny B - loved going to Huddersfield town centre with his cousin, 17-year-old Clinton St Hilaire.

Danny died in the early hours of Sunday morning when a car in which he was passenger hit a tree and lamp-post on Bradley Road in Bradley.

Another passenger, 17-year-old Jade Rice, of Bradley, also died in the crash.

The driver, a 22-year-old Shipley man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is now on police bail pending further inquiries.

Daniel's mum, Linda Adams, and dad, Mark St Hilaire, said he adored his sisters, 13-year-old Leander and four-year-old Paige ( pictured, above ).

Linda said: "His great love was his two sisters and he carried their photographs in his wallet.

"When he came in the house he would immediately pick Paige up and call her `baby'.

"And he and Leander were not just brother and sister. They were best friends too. They adored him as much as he adored them."

Daniel's grandad, Joe St Hilaire, added: "Daniel will always be in my thoughts. I shall never forget his greetings to me - it was a big hug and his words were `love you grandad.' "

Danny had been living in Bradley in recent times and was a familiar sight riding around the area on his mountain bike.

Linda said: "He always had that red tracksuit on - he had saved so hard to buy it. We used to joke he looked like Santa on his bike.

"I just can't believe he's gone."

When Danny was out with his friends he listened to loud and fast garage music - but always preferred reggae at home.

He was not bothered about sport - but became hooked on ice-skating.

"He loved it and would go to the ice rink in Bradford every Thursday," said Linda.

Mark added: "In many ways Danny was a typical teenager - one minute quiet and the next loud. He was a very tidy person and didn't like anything out of place.

"He just loved life and was quite sentimental in the way his family clearly meant to much to him."

* Danny's funeral will be at St Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Aspley at 1pm next Wednesday . Mark said: "We would like people to come in the same clothes they would normally wear when they used to see Danny. "That's what he would have wanted."
