THE family of missing Golcar man Steven Cooper are hosting a charity auction.
The event will take place on Saturday at New Mill Club (7.30pm).
It will raise funds for three charities who have helped Mr Cooper’s family since he went missing in January 2008 – Missing People, Cairngorm Mountain Rescue and the Search and Rescue Dog Association.
It will feature music from band Broken Angel and prizes include a signed print from Holmfirth artist Ashley Jackson, signed photos of Manchester United player Paul Scholes, and Manchester City player Elano, plus goody bags from GMTV and Paul O’Grady.
Local butchers Brindon Addy and Atkinsons and businesses, including Holmfirth and Wooldale Co-op stores, have also lent support or donated prizes.
Mr Cooper’s sister Trish works at the Wooldale shop. She said: “We’re doing this to raise awareness about the charities who help families like ours. They rely on donations and do such important work.”
