A HUDDERSFIELD couple fear a rabbit thief is on the loose.

Charles and Gillian Waterhouse, of Balmoral Avenue, Crosland Moor, have had three rabbits disappear in the past five months - including the family favourite, a white, lop-eared male called Frosty.

Mr and Mrs Waterhouse bought Frosty in December, 2000.

He was a house rabbit until December last year, when they decided he would be happier outside.

They got him a companion, Dora, and they lived in hutches with an 18ft run.

One morning in May, Mr Waterhouse found Dora had gone.

He then looked after his boss's two rabbits.

One was in the house and the other, Jessica - which the family later adopted - in the run with Frosty.

But in June, Jessica vanished.

The Waterhouses were suspicious, but told themselves it was possible Jessica had escaped, too.

Then on Wednesday Frosty disappeared.
