A DESPERATE appeal has been made for the return of a much-loved horse, which could be in Huddersfield.

Sherrie Harrold's horse Kelly and her sister Jackie Crew's horse Sprout were taken from a field in Hartlebury, Worcestershire, on Saturday October 9.

Both animals were offered at a horse sale in Holmfirth on the same morning, along with a coloured mare called Jaz, which was stolen in Worcestershire the evening before.

Sherrie said: "Kelly was bought by a reputable dealer on behalf of a client and when it was discovered he was stolen, was returned to us immediately, as was Jaz who had been bought by the same dealer.

"Unfortunately Sprout is still missing and we are desperately asking for any information on her whereabouts."

Sherrie said a man who was selling animals in Holmfirth was arrested in Melton Mowbray the following Saturday and released on bail, but is denying he ever had Sprout.

Sherrie said: "She is 10 years old and is a much loved family pet."

Sherrie's number is 07976 573429 and Jackie's number is 07799 496385.
