RAIN has dominated weather forecasts for days.

But at least disabled Huddersfield Town supporters are staying dry, thanks to the Co-op.

The Co-op has given £460 to the Huddersfield Town Disabled Supporters' Club to spend on umbrellas and waterproofs.

The fans need the gear to keep dry while negotiating the disabled access to the Galpharm Stadium.

Some of the cash will also be used to create promotional leaflets for the club.

The cash has come from the Co-op's Community Dividend fund.

Twice a year, Co-op customers receive cash payouts earned through collecting Dividend loyalty card points from shopping in Co-op stores.

The payouts are in full pounds, so any extra pence go into the Community Dividend fund.

About £100,000 is given annually to charities and community groups in Yorkshire.

Co-op regional secretary Joan Keysell said: "We are delighted to make this award to the Disabled Supporters' Club.

"Many community groups could benefit from an award and we would welcome applications."
