THIS dramatic sunset captures the ever-changing colour as dusk turns into night.
It was taken by 48-year-old David Atkinson on Burton Acres Lane in Kirkburton, looking out over the Woodsome valley.
David, an operations manager for a lift company, said: “I’ve always been interested in cameras, but have always had compact cameras up until now.
“Earlier this year I bought a Nikon D5000 and used its slow aperture to let more light in for this photograph. It meant the foreground was all in black silhouette which made the colours in the sky really stand out.
“The camera gives the user total control and is a world of difference from using the compact cameras.’’
David is married to Sonia and the couple have two children, 16-year-old Lauren and Liam, 13.
