A FORMER Huddersfield pharmacist has been found guilty of handling stolen pills.

Hafiz Noorullah, of Pateley Crescent, Fartown, appeared before Southwark Crown Court in London.

He was found guilty by a jury of handling stolen goods.

The charge came after breast cancer, heart disease and Parkinson’s medication worth £1.7m were found being stored in a warehouse in Meltham owned by Noorullah.

In 2009 he claimed he was duped into storing more than two million stolen pills while a buyer was found for them.

But a jury at London’s Southwark Crown Court in November, 2009, failed to reach a verdict on one charge of handling stolen goods on or before November 11, 2007.

At the time they cleared Noorullah of distributing medicine or products in breach of his wholesale dealer’s licence.

But he faced a re-trial on the handling stolen goods trails last week.

The case against him was adjourned until September 9 for sentencing.
