A MAN has appeared in court facing charges relating to the running of a Huddersfield sex den.

Roger Harriott, of Blackhouse Road, Fartown, faced five charges connected to his alleged management of the brothel at Willow Lane, when he appeared at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court.

He is charged with three allegations of acquiring criminal property, one of transferring criminal property and one charge of converting criminal property.

The charges relate to being concerned in the management and using the cash generated through criminal conduct for his own means.

The offences are alleged to have taken place between October 11, 2007 and June 30, 2011.

Carole Lawford, prosecuting, said: “The charges relate to the proceeds of crime through services in a brothel.

“We are maybe looking at hundreds of thousands of pounds.”

Harriott, 44, did not give an indication as to what his plea to the charges will be.

Magistrates committed him to appear before Leeds Crown Court on September 6.
