POLICE have launched a renewed appeal for information about a missing pensioner.

George Hazelhurst, 82, went missing from his home on Walker Street in Thornhill Lees last Monday.

Mountain rescue team volunteers, police dogs and a helicopter carried out searches throughout the past week but found no trace of him.

The grandad, who had just moved from Earlsheaton, suffers from angina and TB. He was last seen walking down Ingham Road in Thornhill Lees.

Mr Hazelhurst is white, 5ft 10ins tall, slim, and balding with grey hair.

He was wearing navy trousers, a grey patterned jumper, tan shoes and may have been wearing a dark jacket.

Det Sgt Dave West said the police were very concerned for Mr Hazelhurst who could be anywhere in West Yorkshire.

He said: "We appeal to anyone who thinks they may have seen him to ring us straight away."
