A PUB is doing its bit to boost this year's Food and Drink Festival in Huddersfield.

The Huddersfield Town Centre Association is organising what is shaping up to be the biggest-ever such festival in the town.

It starts on August 19 and ends on August 22.

And the Head Of Steam pub in St George's Square, is to stage a beer festival.

It will present real ales from more than 25 Yorkshire breweries, real ciders from at least 12 firms and more than 25 classic British bottled beers.

The pub also plans to sell lagers such as Staropramen, from the Czech Republic.

Tony Brookes, one of the organisers of the beer festival,

said: "This event is growing every year.

"It is good for businesses in Huddersfield with the visitors it brings in."
